Prepping for SNAP!

I am so thrilled to be attending SNAP! this year, a 3 day conference in Utah for creative bloggers.  It's going to be 3 days of amazing classes taught by many of my absolute favorite bloggers, meeting other creative bloggers, reaching out to major brands, and partying with new friends!  I can't wait!!

I have been really busy putting my media kit together, designing business cards, packaging up my business cards in a cute, fun way (I'll show you soon!), making 250 homemade suckers to go with my cards for new friends, cleaning, packing, shopping for new clothes (not so tough), blogging... oh yeah, and taking care of four kids, too!

It's a lot of work, but will be so worth it!  Luckily spring break is over this week so with half my kids in school, I'll have a little bit of time to get everything together and ready to go!

Enjoying Easter

How was your Easter?  We had a great day filled with two delicious dinners, two Easter egg hunts, two sets of grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles- oh, and about 12 tons of candy!!

This little guy couldn't care less about all of the eggs filled with toys and candy... but he did find every single ball in the yard, and tried to put them all in his basket.  Literally, he found at least 12 of the neighbor kids' balls!  Total and complete boy.

I hope your day was great!!  I took the weekend off from anything blogging related (which NEVER happens) so that I could spend some quality time with my family, but I'll be back tomorrow with another easy and fun DIY idea!

I just had to take a minute out of my regular DIY crafty posts to tell my amazing husband how much I love and appreciate him!!  He is so sweet and good to me, and is the best dad to our four kids...

Reflecting

It's been just over two months now that I started Make Life Lovely, and it has been an amazing couple of months!  I love the whole process of coming up with new ideas, creating, making, and constantly thinking about the next DIY project, organizing idea, makeup tip, or holiday craft that will go on the blog.  How many people get to do what they love every single day?  Not too many, I would guess, so I count myself very lucky.

This new year, I plan on bringing you more great ideas to make your lives even more lovely.  I will continue to post new ideas Monday-Thursday, and continue my Featured Music Friday, which I love.  It's been a busy two months, and everything here is done only by me, but I wouldn't change it for a thing.  I am very pleased with the amount of people who have visited my blog.  It's nice to see that I'm not just writing to myself, even if there may not be any comments left on a post... hint hint ;)

I wanted to share some links with you of different sites that have featured my projects and designs.  It is an amazing feeling to be contacted by a blog, company, or PR rep about something I made, and to have them share my work with their readers.  It makes my day!

Here are a few of my favorite features:

TLC (eek!, I love TLC) recently asked to feature my Anthro-Inspired Snow Globes on their parenting blog, Parentables.  The article was on last-minute Christmas gifts that you can make, and you can read it here.

The Huffington Post featured my Metallic Gold Acorns on their website as one of their holiday craft ideas segments before Thanksgiving, and then re posted it before Christmas.  You can read the article here.

I was recently contacted by Constanza, who lives in Chile, and who created a sewing blog called Bendita Costura (written in Spanish).  She asked if she could write about me and Make Life Lovely, and so she wrote a very nice post in Spanish AND in English, so that I could read it, which was very sweet.  I would love for you to read it here.

Earth 911 also featured my Metallic Gold Acorns AND my Scrapbook Paper Thanksgiving Wreath in an article about DIY Thanksgiving Decor.  You can read it here.

Earth 911 also asked me to participate in a contest they will be having on their website very soon... more details to come, but I am currently working on my project, and can't wait to see all of the entries!

I have always loved creating.  I have a strong desire to create, and truly enjoy sharing my ideas with others- that's the whole reason I started my blog!  I graduated from BYU in Elementary Ed., and moved back to California after graduation.  I soon after was married became a teacher.  I taught grades K-3rd for seven years as our family was growing. Four children later, I am a happy stay-at-home mom who is always on the lookout for my next DIY project and for any excuse to throw a party!
