Fun with Just Dance 2014

My daughter has been dancing for years- ballet, jazz, and hip hop.  She is an amazing dancer, and can pick up choreography quickly and put her own unique spin on a move. We own almost all of the Just Dance video games, and just recently added Just Dance 2014, by Ubisoft, to our collection, woo hoo!

My daughter and her best friend were the first to try out our new game, and they loved it!!  I loved watching them have fun together, and I also loved busting out my dance moves!  I just made sure to do that after her friend left ;)

Whether you are a Just Dance newbie or an old pro, you'll love dancing to the new songs and choreography in Just Dance 2014.  There are plenty of current songs that you hear a lot on the radio, like "Roar" by Katie Perry, which comes as a free download, and which my daughter and her friend were the most excited about!

There are also a few older songs, like "Ghostbusters" and a song from "Aladdin," that the girls enjoyed dancing to as well.  The game is rated ages 10 and up, and includes another Katy Perry song, "I Kissed A Girl," and a couple other songs that could be considered inappropriate.  The songs are all edited, but this is something to be aware of, depending on the age of your child.

While my daughter enjoys playing Just Dance 2014 to try and get a high score and have fun dancing, I like the fact that I'm having fun and exercising at the same time!  Some of these songs will give you a serious workout!  A cool feature of this game is the Just Sweat Mode, which will play songs continuously for 10, 20, or 40 minutes at a time.  You can make a custom play list, and even track the calories that you've burned!  I love that you can keep dancing without having to worry about stopping and picking the next song.

When you do pick a song, you are then able to choose whether you want to play that song in classic mode, mash-up mode, sweat mash-up mode, and some songs will even give you the option of a Broadway version!  I love all of the different choices, and the fact that I can choose which character I want to be in the song.  Some of the characters are pretty creative!

There's also a cool new feature to Just Dance 2014 that's called World Dance Floor, where you can dance with anyone anywhere in the world in online multi-player mode.  So cool!  

If you're looking for a way to bond with your tween or teen, want a way to work off your stress, or you just want a good workout, be sure to try Just Dance 2014!  You can buy it on Amazon, and it would also make a great Christmas gift or stocking stuffer, too.  And if you choose to buy it for yourself, be prepared to have fun and feel good about fitting that workout in without even leaving the house!  You can also visit the Ubisoft blog for more fun!
