Anyone that really know me knows that I am a die hard Vampire Weekend fan. I just adore every single song of theirs, and love to turn up my phone full blast while I'm in the shower just to sing along with them. Unfortunately, it can be hard to hear the music once the water starts going... the volume is never up high enough, and I usually worry that I'll damage my phone with all the steam and moisture from my shower.... enter KOHLER Moxie!
I have found an amazingly fun way for my kids to practically beg me to take their showers and baths each day, and for me to be able to relax OR feel energized during my shower, depending on my mood! We just installed THE coolest shower head, the Moxie, that actually plays music!
It's a shower head and a speaker in one, and it uses Bluetooth from your phone or iPad (or ANY device with Bluetooth) to play your own music right from the shower head! I am not exaggerating when I say that installing the Moxie has been life changing.
The Moxie has so many cool features! Here are just a few of my favorite things about my new sleek shower head…
The wireless speaker fits right into the shower head, and can easily be pulled in and out of the shower to charge because it's magnetic. All you do is plug it in to charge it up, and then it's good to go for another 7 hours of playing time!
You can take the speaker wherever you would like to in your house! You're not limited to just the shower. If I'm doing the dishes in the kitchen and want to sing along with Vampire Weekend, I just bring the speaker with me to the kitchen and sing away!
Installation literally took about 5 minutes. Once the Moxie is installed, simply hold down the small button on the speaker for a second or two til it beeps, go into the settings on your phone or tablet, turn on the Bluetooth, and it will automatically find your Moxie and pair it with your phone. Turn on your desired tunes, and get ready to sing your heart out in the shower!
Your phone doesn't even have to be in the bathroom for the Moxie to work. I closed the bathroom door and moved my phone through the hall and out into another room, and the sound still worked perfectly, so if you're worried about your phone and the moisture in the bathroom, just put it in an adjoining room. It will work up to 32 feet away from the shower head.
The wireless speaker can also be bought separately in four different colors, so if you wanted to, you could have a different color for each person in the house! There's navy blue, chartreuse, cherry red, and retro blue- I love the cherry red and retro blue the best!
Okay, now for a funny true story... I was taking these photos to share with you and singing along with Vampire Weekend, of course, when I noticed my two year old run into the bathroom naked and hurry and climb in the tub with a huge smile on his face!
This kid loves his baths but won't go near the tub if the shower is on. Once he heard the music, though, he just couldn't help ripping off his clothes and getting right in! I let him sit in the tub for a bit with the shower water going because he was having so much fun.
My daughter, who sings in the shower every night without fail, now sings even louder with the Moxie, which I think is pretty darn cute (her brother doesn't agree with me, though!). Her top sing-in-the-shower picks are Katie Perry's "Roar" and "Dark Horse."
My husband, though he may not admit it, ALWAYS takes his iPhone in the bathroom with him to listen to his music while in the bathtub or shower. He's loving listening to his favorites right in the shower with our new Moxie!
